Breaking Down Barriers at Swim Week

As we head closer to our launch date, we thought of no better place to show up then to the hottest summer event in Miami, Miami Swim Week!

Taken place at the iconic Faena Forum, we had a fantastic time educating the community about the healing power of hemp while providing healing to the models and all of those in need. From insomnia to skin care, aches and pains, managing of moods, anxiety and stress, we were welcomed with open arms by the designers and models alike.

Without surprise, we instantly found our hero at the event and his name was Kristian Chase. A designer of Australian swimwear label Aqua Blu, Kristian broke down barriers during Miami Swim Week on opening night by showcasing a spectacular line of swimwear for all types of shape and sizes, as well as featuring ethnic diverse models. Kristian created a diverse runway with bold and beautiful fabrics and colors worn by bold and beautiful models of all sizes – the first of its kind for Miami Swim Week! And we loved it!

Honorary mention for originality and artistic design was Joel Alvarez, of the Black Tape Project, who mesmerized the runway with 21 glorious models, embellished with gold metallic tape on their bodies. By creating an illusion of swimwear to the naked eye, the runway show was full of spectators, with eyes glued at the models as they came out with pride showing off bold swimwear that only metallic tape could create. It was no surprise that the show was a huge hit on closing night.

While there, another fashion product sponsor asked why we had chosen to sponsor a fashion event rather than a wellness event before our launch. We told her that fashion was a platform where being bold and original were celebrated. We had wanted to be the non-conventional sponsor and show up to events that may not make the most sense, but because we would always make an impact (i.e. by providing healing to all who we would come across), sponsoring a fashion event would be a bold and original move. Like Kristian, who broke down barriers in the fashion industry, we plan to break down barriers in our own industry, so stay tune!

In all, we are deeply grateful for Erik Rosette, founder of @Artheartsfashion, for bringing on the first Full Spectrum Hemp Extract brand to the fashion world as a sponsor and wanted to send a huge shout out to Didi Roberts and the rest of the team for their hard work and resilience.

Namaste, Hemp&Heroes Team
